Angel Forrest has been a powerful and unmistakable voice in the Canadian blues scene since beginning her musical journey in 1988. A singer, songwriter and performer known for her raw, soulful vocals and electrifying stage presence, Angel has built a career that spans more than three decades and continues to evolve.

 

Her early work, including Secondhand Blues and Angel Sings Janis Live, established her reputation as a dynamic performer, while her first original album, Here For You, went on to sell more than 30,000 copies. She followed with a series of acclaimed releases, including Come Alive, Mother Tongue Blues, Live Love, Angel’s 11, Electric Love, Hell Bent with Grace and Angel’s 11 Vol. II.

 

Angel’s music has earned her 10 Maple Blues Awards, including an extraordinary eight Female Vocalist of the Year awards, as well as honours for Songwriter and Producer/Recording of the Year. She was also a finalist at the 2018 International Blues Challenge in Memphis and received a JUNO Award nomination for Hell Bent with Grace. 

 

One of the defining projects of her career was Angel’s 11, a concept album bringing together 11 of Canada’s finest guitarists. Its success led to Angel’s 11 Vol. II in 2022, featuring collaborations with artists including Crystal Shawanda, Harry Manx, Dawn Tyler Watson, Brandon Isaak and Ricky Paquette. 

 

In 2026, Angel enters a new chapter with A Beautiful Life, her first fully independent album—an honest, powerful collection that blends blues, rock and soul and reflects the experience, resilience and passion that have defined her remarkable career.

 

Today, Angel continues to tour and create new music, bringing together blues, rock, soul and roots influences with the emotional honesty and intensity that have become her trademark. After more than 35 years on stage, she remains an artist driven by connection, storytelling and a genuine love of performing—always looking toward the next chapter rather than resting on the achievements of the past.
